Families from the Sydney region in search of the ultimate agriculture experience will find it – and entertainment for the whole family – by visiting Belgenny Farm at Camden for Farm Sunday celebrations. Working dog trials, sheep shearing, music and entertainment, tractor rides, butter-making and cow milking are just some of the attractions visitors can expect to enjoy. You can also enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon.

Belgenny Farm spokesperson Greg Glasgow said Farm Sunday was designed as an agricultural event for the whole family. “There is an endless list of activities for kids, and entertainment and exhibitions for mum, dad and the other family members,” he said. “One of the major features at Farm Sunday this year is the Snake and Reptile Show featuring Copperheads, Death Adders, red belly black, brown and tiger snakes.”

Situated on Sydney’s outskirts, Belgenny Farm is regarded as the birthplace of Australian agriculture. One of the nation’s first farms, and home to the pioneering farming family the Macarthurs, it provides the ideal opportunity for children to learn some agriculture history and enjoy a fun day.

The working dog trials will showcase champion Border Collie and Kelpie sheep dogs moving sheep around a difficult course. In addition, Greg Glasgow, a born and bred country character, will feature with Gina the Border Collie.

Buffet luncheonOther activities include arts and crafts, wood chopping demonstrations, baby farm animals, and a bee hive display, along with historic tours of Belgenny Farm. A delicious range of refreshments will also be available, and a buffet luncheon is also offered (see details below).
